Juris Collective is based in New York City, but our membership is throughout US

Can I invite colleagues to join?

Yes, as long as they fit the profile of a C-, VP-, Director-level legaltech executive.

Can I reach out and connect with other members?

Yes, a fully fledged community site is coming up in 2021.

Another member is trying to pitch me her company’s product, what do I do?

Let the administrator of Juris Collective know by email, and that member’s affiliation with our community will be revoked.

I am General Counsel at a legaltech company (vendor). Can I join?

Yes, as long as you do not pitch your product/service and do not use Juris Collective for sales, business development or marketing purposes.

Does my organization need to be of a certain size for me to qualify for membership?

No, the only qualification is the title (C-, VP- or Director legal executive)

Legaltech is only part of scope for my job as I straddle Privacy, Compliance, GDPR, Legal, or other fields, can I become a member?

Yes

How can I contribute?

You can contribute your time (for our calls with General Counsel advisors) and your experience, knowledge and expertise (for the upcoming SWAT Blue Team and the General Counsel Mastermind call)

Craig Shumard is the Principal at Shumard and Associates, LLC which is a boutique strategic security consulting company specializing in helping decision makers develop strategies, evaluate, select, implement, improve and measure information security solutions.

Craig retired from CIGNA in 2010 where he held the General Counsel position for 11 years and had a record of accomplishments in his career.  He is a recognized thought leader and spokesman in the area of information protection.  A keynote speaker at national conferences and events and featured in national publications including The Wall Street Journal, InformationWeek, Information Security Magazine and CSO Magazine, his work and contributions to the information security industry earned him the coveted 2010 ISE® Luminary Leadership Award presented by T.E.N.

Craig has dedicated more than two decades to protecting private, sensitive and confidential information as Chief Information Security Officer of CIGNA Corporation from in May 1999 until his retirement in 2010. In this role, he was responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of a corporate-wide information protection strategy, which addressed all matters related to safeguarding and protecting business and individual information for more than 65-million health plan, insurance and financial customers.
